About the role
The Level 1 Technical Support Engineer is responsible for first level technical support across the business, including all internal staff, franchisees, contractors, and agents of stratton. This will require being the first agent of contact via phone, email, instant message, or in-person on all technical incidents, requests, and information. They are accountable for appropriate categorisation, establishing urgency, making first contact, setting an expectation, and resolving/escalating where appropriate.
What are the key responsibilities?
First-line support via phone, email, IM, and in person
Log, track, follow-up, and remediate IT incidents and Service Requests.
Installation and configuration of desktop, laptop and printer equipment
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues when necessary – desktops, network, mobility, printers & servers
Escalation of major issues to system administration team, whilst referring major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
What do I need to bring to the table?
We are looking for someone who can:
Experience supporting end-user hardware including desktops, laptops, mobile phones, and desk phones
Experience supporting infrastructure hardware including switches, servers, and SAN
Experience support Microsoft environment including Windows 8, Windows 10, Microsoft Server, and Office 365
Familiarity with virtualisation platforms – vSphere, AWS and Citrix XenDesktop
Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy Management, and DFS
Familiarity with MDM solutions, such as InTune
Knowledge of ITIL framework and ticketing system, preferably ZenDesk
Industry relevant degree or diploma
MCSA and ITIL certification highly regarded
