We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Services team in our Melbourne offices. We are seeking natural collaborators with great communication and innovative sustainability-oriented technical design skills to join our Melbourne team.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a similar area.
Relevant industry experience in, ideally with 3-6 years Mechanical Engineering within a consulting business environment.
Ability to communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments.
Effective written communication and report writing skills.
Demonstrated developing skills in design/technical or professional specialisation.
The following are not pre-requisites but will be beneficial when applying for the role:
Experience working on large technically focussed projects such as hospitals and/or data centres.
Experience in working in multidisciplinary project teams.
Awareness and a degree of aptitude across the full cycle of project stages (concept, scheme, detailed design, tender documentation, site supervision, commissioning, close out) in particular detailed design and delivery.
Competence in using software such as Revit, thermal modelling (such as IES), excel, other digital platforms.

About the role
You’ll join a team of multi-disciplinary engineers working on a wide range of exciting and impactful local projects (think commercial, education, data centre projects, and more).
The primary focus of this role is to provide design delivery and be a proactive member of an established Building Services team. You will also grow your leadership skills and help lead graduate level staff within the Mechanical Services discipline.
In this role you will:
Facilitate and co-ordinate design activities, processes and other technical standards within the Mechanical Services discipline on projects.
Partake in active participation within the global Arup Mechanical Services discipline on projects.
Undertake mechanical design for a range of projects.
Provide design calculations, drawings and specifications.
Work directly with clients and other professionals with some supervision.
Undertake project related correspondence and reports.
