About the opportunity
The Australian Mining, Metals and Minerals group has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Mining Engineer. Reporting to the Director of Underground Mining, this opportunity may be based in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth or Adelaide.
This dual delivery focused role works with the global Worley mining team, focusing on Front End solutions and support of Worley Engineering projects around the world. The Principal Mining Engineer will also provide technical and consulting services to Tier 1 and 2 clients and act as a QP when required.
This role has many hats - Mining Lead, Project Manager, Project Engineer on EPCM and DE project delivery scopes. Technical support will be required for engineering work on PEA, PFS and FS studies and the role will support execution of mining projects.
This role will service project delivery through mine planning and design, mining method, selection and optimisation, cost estimations, equipment selection, project and study management and due diligence, audits and peer reviews.
Degree qualified (Associated with Mining) with 15+ years of operational hard rock experience
A WA First class Mine Managers certificate of competency will be highly regarded
In depth knowledge of Deswick, Studio 5D planner and other mining industry approved software
Fluent skill of the English language (written and spoken) essential; French, Spanish, Portuguese or Russian are highly regarded
CP AusIMM membership and QP/CP status as defined by NI42-101/JORC reporting standards
Time spent in an underground mine
Experience providing input into business development strategy and leveraging off professional networks
