This primary purpose for this Project Engineer position is to project manage, execute and control a diverse range of electrical projects on site, reporting into the largely office based Project Manager. Our projects typically focus on substations and transmission lines, though strong Civil Project Engineers would also be considered favourably.
About the role
Ideally you will be experienced in substation, or Transmission/Distribution Line construction, or come from a strong civil background. You will be required to lead and mentor Project Delivery Teams whilst building strong relationships with all stakeholders.
Initially it is envisaged you would contribute to the Project Establishment before taking the project through to delivery.
Project manage design and construction contracts within green and brown field environments
Take ownership of the project and do what it takes to deliver the desired outcomes
Facilitate planning workshops and manage risk and opportunities within your area of responsibility
Resource the project adequately to ensure seamless execution of contract
Develop procurement and delivery strategies for secured projects and execute in accordance with agreed strategy
Develop cost plans for secured projects then monitor and control costs through delivery phase
Conduct project reviews based on performance / achievement of milestones
Manage change management to mitigate or eliminate risk
Prepare and report on weekly and monthly progress reports focused on finance, schedule, safety and quality
Follow Zinfra's Project Management Methodologies and work to adopt best practice in project management
Adhere to all business policies and procedures in delivery of the project
Ideally, you will have extensive Project experience working within the utilities, substations, infrastructure sectors successfully delivering projects within greenfield and brownfield environments. Your resume may also demonstrate:
Degree in Electrical Engineering/Project Management/Construction (desirable)
Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate workers, sub-contractors and key stakeholders to achieve program milestones
Understanding and ability to execute all Project Management knowledge areas
Power networks and substations within NSW
Developing, negotiating and delivering on outage plans
Leading teams on site, driving the right culture for success
Managing budgets and controlling costs to achieve financial outcomes
Proven track record of achieving results through influencing and relationship skills
Demonstrated project management experience delivering design & construction works
Exposure to SAP, MS Office, MS Project and Aconex
