We are looking for an experienced Linux Engineer to provide a six-month fixed-term Operating System support. In addition, the role also includes the support of the Enterprise level software applications that reside on the Linux systems.
Ideally you will be familiar with configuring and deploying a variety of enterprise application services and developing scripts to automate system administration tasks, with Ansible and one or more scripting languages (Bash, Python, or Perl)
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting and troubleshooting Linux Systems and/or enterprise software applications; the role will require BAU support.
Strong analytical thinking and technical knowledge with good time management skills will ensure success in the role.
Redhat Linux Operating System administration
Administration and troubleshooting of Linux software applications
Resolving incidents, requests and issues raised by customers and system generated alerts while meeting client SLAs for system availability, uptime and reliability
Managing service request tickets and incidents within an ITIL Service Management Tool
Executing application or system changes within approved change control processes. Including some out of hours deployments
Assisting with system and process documentation.
Participation in an out of hours on-call roster.
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience in an enterprise IT Support role with strong Linux administration support experience (Red Hat 6 & 7),
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP Networking
Understanding of Ansible and Ansible Tower
Experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise software applications
Well-developed troubleshooting, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
Familiarity with IT security best practices and privacy of customer data.
A mindset for continual process improvement and automation
Relevant certification such as Red Hat RHCSA/RHCE or related diploma, vocational or industry certificate or relevant work experience in a UNIX or Red Hat environment.
Broader knowledge across Microsoft server technologies (AD, DHCP, DNS, IIS etc.)
ITIL Foundations certification
