We are currently looking for a recently graduated electronics engineer to join our engineering department on a full-time basis based in Lonsdale SA. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to apply theoretical knowledge to practical applications. Working under the guidance of our Electronics Manager, you will develop skills in the provision of electronics design solutions across a varied product portfolio. This will include providing design concepts, product specifications, embedded software solutions, PCB layouts, test programs, and approvals. From time to time you will liaise with local and international electronics manufacturers to productionise electronics systems.
We require a person degree qualified in Electronics Engineering or a similar related engineering discipline, with an interest in high volume consumer electronic circuit design, electronics manufacturing, and embedded software. Ideally you will enjoy problem solving with a sound technical knowledge, looking to develop these skills in a practical hands-on way in a manufacturing environment.
Key development opportunities:
Design electronic circuits, ensuring they meet the requirements of all stake holder and are as per recommended standards. (From high voltage power circuits, inverters etc to low power Micro control circuits).
Understand microprocessor embedded software code, written in ‘C’.
Support the development (hardware and software) of the Seeley IoT program.
Gain further experience in use of CAD software packages e.g. Altium Designer.
Project manage electronic development tasks to ensure on-time completion.
Provide recommendations and advice on technical issues related to electronic products.
Develop, run and document test programs to ensure new designs are robust and conform to all operational and life requirements.
Document design from initial Operational specification to Manufacturing test specification.
Provide SOP’s and quality system requirements to contract PCBA manufacturers.
Review designs in a group format using FMEA processes.
Gain experience with EMC design techniques and compliance testing.
Gain working knowledge of electrical and product safety standards (LVD, EMC etc.)
You will need excellent time and self-management skills, together with effective written and verbal communication skills. Working for a dynamic manufacturing business, flexibility will be very important, as priorities can change rapidly, often to maintain production. You will be required to work collectively with production, engineering and service personnel. Demonstrated knowledge in a production environment will certainly be a benefit.
