It’s an exciting time to be at Olympic Dam, we are accessing 70% of the orebody that hasn’t been touched in the first 25 years of operation, in one of Australia’s largest mines within a complex minerals processing operation.
About the role
You will play a pivotal role in driving the review of end-to-end project processes, development of document standards and performance indicators that support capital productivity through efficient execution of project engineering tasks to drive safety, construction efficiency, commissioning and operation for any given scope of work.
Committed to developing a culture driven by safety, quality and continuous improvement, your highly developed teamwork and interpersonal skills and an eye for detail will be central to success in the role.
This position is based in Adelaide with occasional site travel.
Reporting to the Manager Project Engineering in the Olympic Dam Asset Project team, your responsibilities will include:
Development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of Project Engineering document standards, processes, systems and plans for capital projects to satisfy the project engineering strategy and tactics.
Championing efficient project engineering processes during development of the scope, schedule, and cost of the engineering for capital projects.
Supporting engineering efficiency through monitoring Contractor and Engineering Service Provider (ESP) performance to drive high quality, cost-effective outcomes.
Support functions and sub-functions across Olympic Dam Asset Projects (ODAP) in achieving capital productivity through proactive participation in project reviews using ICAM methodologies and sharing of key learnings to drive consistency.
Developing tools that support adequate resource planning across the project lifecycle and with sufficient forecasting capability to manage demand.
Collaborate with functions across ODAP to create new technical and engineering standards where required for the successful delivery of the project scope of work.
Capture and communicate external best practices through benchmarking and active engagement in the industry to identify opportunities for improvement.
To achieve success in this role your technical strengths will be complemented by your high level of engagement and interpersonal skills. Proactive, credible and influential, you relate well with people, communicating confidently and building strong working relationships with a broad group of stakeholders to influence and support change.
Qualification and solid experience in ICAM Investigation is required
Tertiary qualification in Engineering or an aligned discipline is required
Ability to engage and motivate others to drive continual improvement
An understanding of and experience with Project and Risk Frameworks
Ability to inspire and educate around the importance of Quality awareness
Focused to prioritise tasks in accordance with requirements and stakeholder expectations
An autonomous working style with delivery focus
